About

TwoBadArtists is Charlène Goldstein and Aldo Cherres, two formally and classically trained artists with degrees in painting. We often look toward nature for our inspiration. Our work here is collaborative. We have been working in this method for a few years and enjoy the process as it is so different from our individual solo work. We spend a lot of time talking about what our next series will be like; colors, subject, size, etc. Once we have a rough idea, we each start drawings on a few canvas boards (when working small, we work in series). We then trade places and begin painting the drawings of the other. This can be slightly frustrating at first with our different styles. The idea here, is to move through that frustration with an open mind and that’s where the growth happens. We keep trading places as much as the painting will call for. The energy of two painters in one piece can be extraordinary giving each work incredible life. We find the process extremely beneficial for keeping the paintings loose and alive.

Two professional artists from varied cultural backgrounds with extensive experience in the fine arts.
Charlene, a Franco-American artist, born in Cannes of French and American parents, studied art/painting at USIU California before coming to Florida and continuing her work. Aldo Cherres, born and raised in Lima Peru where he studied art at Toulouse Lautrec school, came to the states to continue his education at FAU Florida and pursue his career as a painter.
